The Advocacy Committee of the Interfaith Task Force organizes, educates, and advocates on behalf of LGBTQ homeless youth, and offers leadership and guidance to religious institutions and others wishing to educate themselves and organize their resources to address this problem.
The Advocacy Committee advocates on behalf of LGBTQ homeless youth by:
Raising awareness in the tri-state region of the plight of LGBTQ homeless youthEducating religious institutions and others about LGBTQ homeless youth and the relationship to homophobic teachings and practicesTraining volunteers to work at shelters.Obtaining donations of funds, food and clothing forshelters
